La conacul lui Constantin, Astra se luptă cu treburile cotidiene și este ignorat de Constantin. Astra îl găsește pe ocultistul Aleister Crowley prins într-un tablou. El îi învață magia și despre Fântâna Imperiumului, o sursă de magie extraterestră. În timpul unei dispute cu Constantine, Astra îi dă lui Crowley controlul asupra corpului său.
